Rubus idaeus 'Autumn Bliss'
Raspberry 'Autumn Bliss' is a classic autumn-fruiting raspberry renowned for its heavy crops and dependable garden performance. Developed at East Malling Research Station in Kent, it was one of the first primocane raspberries bred specifically for growing successfully in UK conditions.
Large, dark red berries are produced on the current season's canes from late July or August into early autumn. The firm fruits have a rich, pleasantly sweet flavour and are delicious eaten fresh, frozen or used in jams, sauces, pies and desserts.
Hardy, self-fertile and compact, 'Autumn Bliss' is suitable for fruit gardens, allotments and large containers. It performs best in a sunny, sheltered position with fertile, moisture-retentive but well-drained soil and shows useful resistance to phytophthora root rot. Pruning is simple, with all canes cut to ground level in February.
