Paeonia x hybrida 'Going Bananas'
Paeonia x hybrida 'Going Bananas' is a vibrant Itoh (Intersectional) peony, renowned for its abundant semi-double blooms in a cheerful soft lemon-yellow. Each flower can show gentle apricot tones at the base of the petals and a bright cluster of golden stamens, creating a lively and uplifting display in late spring to early summer.
As an Itoh peony, it combines the best traits of both tree and herbaceous peonies—large flowers, strong woody stems that require no staking, and a neat, bushy habit that dies back cleanly in winter. Reliable, long-lived and fully hardy, it thrives in full sun and well-drained, fertile soil. Excellent in mixed borders, as a specimen plant, and superb as a cut flower.
