Cerastium tomentosum
Cerastium tomentosum is a low-growing, mat-forming perennial producing masses of pure white flowers above soft, silvery-grey foliage. Its spreading habit creates a bright carpet of colour and texture across sunny planting areas.
Flowering from May to July, Snow-in-Summer provides an abundant early-summer display. The white blooms contrast beautifully with the silver foliage, while the low stems spill naturally over walls, paths and raised bed edges.
Hardy, drought tolerant and easy to grow, this reliable alpine thrives in full sun and well-drained soil. It is ideal for rockeries, gravel gardens, dry banks, containers and ground-cover planting where its vigorous spread can be enjoyed.
