Astrantia Sparkling Stars Series™ 'Star of Billion'
Astrantia Sparkling Stars Series™ 'Star of Billion' is a compact, clump-forming perennial producing dainty pink and green pincushion-like flowers surrounded by delicate papery bracts. Its intricate blooms bring texture, softness and elegant detail to mixed planting schemes.
Flowering from June to August, this long-blooming variety is especially effective in cottage gardens, woodland-style borders and naturalistic planting. The nectar-rich flowers are highly attractive to bees and butterflies, while the long-lasting stems are also excellent for cutting.
Easy to grow and adaptable, 'Star of Billion' tolerates a wide range of soil types and aspects, provided the soil is moist but well drained. It performs well in full sun or partial shade and returns reliably each year after dying back in autumn.
