Viburnum tinus 'Gwenllian'
Viburnum tinus 'Gwenllian' is a bushy evergreen shrub with neat, glossy dark green leaves and a dense, rounded habit. Its year-round foliage brings structure to mixed borders and makes it an excellent choice for informal hedging, screening or specimen planting.
Reddish-pink buds open into clusters of small white flowers flushed with soft pink, creating a long display through winter and into spring. The blooms attract bees and other pollinating insects on mild days, while decorative metallic blue berries follow after flowering, adding further seasonal interest.
A holder of the RHS Award of Garden Merit, 'Gwenllian' thrives in full sun or partial shade with fertile, moist but well-drained soil. Shelter from cold, drying winds helps protect the foliage. Water during dry spells and lightly trim after flowering if needed to maintain its outline.
