Photinia × fraseri 'Devil's Dream'® is an eye-catching evergreen shrub renowned for its exceptionally vivid red new growth and naturally compact habit. The intense, fiery foliage emerges in flushes from spring onwards, creating bold contrast against the glossy mature green leaves and adding dramatic structure to planting schemes.
Unlike many traditional Photinias, the vibrant red colour holds well into late summer before gradually maturing to deep green, extending its visual impact through the season. In late spring, clusters of small creamy-white flowers may appear, adding further interest and attracting pollinators.
Strong yet neat in growth, this variety is ideal for small gardens, modern landscapes and low hedging where space is limited but colour is desired. It responds well to light pruning to encourage fresh red growth and performs best in a sheltered position, protected from harsh midday sun to maintain the richness of its foliage colour.
