Nerine bowdenii 'Like a Virgin'
Nerine bowdenii 'Like a Virgin' is an elegant bulbous perennial producing clusters of pure white flowers on tall, upright stems. Each bloom has narrow, delicately ruffled petals that curve backwards, creating a light and graceful appearance.
Flowering from September to November, this striking nerine provides valuable colour when many other garden plants are beginning to fade. The lightly scented blooms are carried above leafless stems and make excellent cut flowers, offering impressive vase life for autumn arrangements.
Hardy and long-lived, 'Like a Virgin' performs best in full sun and fertile, sharply drained soil in a warm, sheltered position. It is ideal for sunny borders, gravel gardens and patio containers, and should be left undisturbed to develop into an established flowering clump.
