Ilex × meserveae 'Heckenfee'
Ilex × meserveae 'Heckenfee' is a superb female holly variety valued for its dark green, glossy evergreen foliage, vigorous growth and excellent branching habit. Its naturally narrow, upright form makes it particularly well suited to formal hedging, screening and structural planting within the garden.
Small white flowers appear in spring and, when pollinated by a compatible male holly such as Ilex × meserveae 'Heckenstar', are followed by masses of bright red berries in autumn and winter. These colourful berries provide valuable seasonal interest and are highly attractive to birds and other wildlife.
Hardy, reliable and easy to maintain, 'Heckenfee' offers year-round structure with its leathery, spined leaves and neat habit. It is equally at home in contemporary landscapes, traditional gardens and mixed evergreen planting schemes.
