Eupatorium fistulosum 'Atropurpureum'
Eupatorium fistulosum 'Atropurpureum' is a tall, bushy herbaceous perennial producing large rounded heads of purplish-pink flowers above strong upright stems. Its substantial size and bold flowering display make it an impressive choice for adding height and structure to the back of a border.
The flowers create a soft haze of colour above broad green foliage and are particularly effective in naturalistic planting schemes and larger perennial borders. The nectar-rich blooms are also highly attractive to bees, butterflies and other pollinating insects.
Hardy and long lived, 'Atropurpureum' performs best in full sun or partial shade in consistently moist soil. It is especially well suited to damp areas and heavier soils, including clay, where its strong upright growth can develop fully.
