Erica carnea 'Challenger'
Erica 'Challenger' is a colourful, low-growing evergreen shrub that provides reliable winter and early spring interest. Its fine needle-like foliage remains fresh green year-round, while from January through April it is smothered in clusters of vibrant cerise-pink, bell-shaped flowers that brighten borders when little else is in bloom.
Compact and spreading, this winter heath is ideal for carpeting banks, edging borders, or naturalising in rock gardens. It also thrives in containers, where its long flowering season can be enjoyed up close. Hardy and easy to grow, it copes well with cold weather and provides valuable early nectar for bees.
