Cyrtomium fortunei
Cyrtomium fortunei is an elegant evergreen fern valued for its glossy, holly-like fronds that bring year-round structure and texture to shaded parts of the garden. The deep green foliage forms attractive arching clumps, making it a superb choice for woodland gardens, shaded borders or containers.
Hardy and easy to grow, Japanese Holly Fern thrives in partial to full shade in moist but well-drained soil rich in organic matter. Its tough, leathery fronds provide reliable interest throughout the seasons and combine beautifully with hostas, hellebores and other shade-loving plants.
