Chamaecyparis 'Ellwood's Gold' is a compact evergreen conifer with a neat, upright conical habit and fine, feathery foliage. The lime-green growth develops attractive golden-yellow highlights, providing reliable colour and structure throughout the year.
Its naturally tidy form makes 'Ellwood's Gold' an excellent choice for mixed borders, smaller gardens and patio containers. It also works well as an architectural accent or planted in pairs to frame entrances and pathways.
Hardy, slow growing and low maintenance, 'Ellwood's Gold' requires little pruning to retain its attractive shape. It performs best in sun or partial shade in moist but well-drained soil, with brighter light helping to encourage the strongest golden colouring.
