Betula utilis var. jacquemontii
Betula utilis var. jacquemontii is an elegant deciduous tree prized for its striking bright white bark, which becomes increasingly prominent as the tree matures. The clean white stems and branches provide exceptional winter interest, while fresh green foliage creates a light, graceful canopy through spring and summer.
In autumn, the leaves develop warm yellow tones before falling to reveal the distinctive bark in full. Slender catkins appear in spring, adding further seasonal interest and giving the tree a natural, refined character.
Well suited to lawns, borders and woodland-style planting, this Himalayan birch makes an excellent specimen tree and is particularly effective when planted in groups or multi-stemmed arrangements. It grows best in full sun or partial shade in moist but well-drained soil.
