Betula utilis subsp. jacquemontii 'Moonbeam' is an elegant deciduous tree prized for its striking white, peeling bark, which provides exceptional year-round interest. Its clean white stems become increasingly impressive as the tree matures, making it a superb architectural feature.

Glossy dark green leaves form an attractive rounded crown through spring and summer before developing warm yellow tones in autumn. 'Moonbeam' is one of the more compact forms of Himalayan Birch, making it particularly useful where the dramatic white bark of this group is wanted without the size of more vigorous varieties.

Hardy, reliable and adaptable, 'Moonbeam' performs well in full sun or partial shade and grows in a wide range of soils provided they are moist but well drained. It requires little pruning and makes an excellent specimen tree for lawns, borders and contemporary planting schemes.
