Vinca minor 'Bowles's Variety'
Vinca minor 'Bowles's Variety' is a reliable evergreen perennial forming a low, spreading carpet of glossy dark green foliage. Rich violet-blue flowers contrast beautifully with the leaves, bringing fresh colour to borders, banks and shaded planting as the garden comes into growth.
Flowering from April to September, with its strongest display in spring, it provides colour over a long season. The trailing stems gradually knit together into dense groundcover, helping to suppress weeds and fill bare spaces beneath established shrubs and trees.
Hardy and easy to grow, 'Bowles's Variety' performs well in sun or shade and tolerates most soils, provided they are not excessively dry. Plant in moist but well-drained soil and water while establishing. Trim back unwanted shoots in spring to manage its spread and maintain a tidy evergreen carpet.
