Taxus baccata 'Semperaurea'
Taxus 'Semperaurea' is a superb golden form of the native yew, valued for its dense evergreen foliage and naturally broad, bushy habit. The bright golden-yellow needles provide year-round colour and gradually develop attractive orange-bronze tones during the winter months, adding further seasonal interest.Slow growing and easy to maintain, this versatile conifer forms a dense, compact shrub that responds exceptionally well to pruning. Its neat habit makes it ideal for hedging, screening, topiary, rockeries and mixed borders, where the vibrant foliage provides contrast against darker green planting.
A holder of the RHS Award of Garden Merit, 'Semperaurea' is a reliable and long-lived garden plant. Thriving in most well-drained soils and tolerant of sun or shade, it is an excellent choice for adding structure, colour and year-round presence to the garden.
