Stipa ichu
Stipa ichu is a graceful deciduous ornamental grass forming dense, upright clumps of bright green foliage. During summer, masses of pale silver, silky, feather-like seed heads rise above the leaves, arching elegantly and swaying gently in the breeze to create a soft, cloud-like effect.
As autumn arrives, the foliage matures to rich brown tones while the seed heads fade to pure white, extending its ornamental appeal well into winter. Native to South America, this drought-tolerant grass is easy to grow and brings movement, texture and lightness to borders, prairie-style planting and gravel gardens.
