Salvia microphylla 'Cherry Lips'
Salvia microphylla 'Cherry Lips' is a vibrant, bushy perennial producing masses of small red and white bi-coloured flowers above aromatic green foliage. Depending on temperature and growing conditions, some blooms may also appear fully pink, adding attractive seasonal variation.
Flowering from June to October, this long-blooming variety provides months of colour and is highly attractive to bees, butterflies and other pollinating insects. Its upright, well-branched habit makes it especially effective in sunny borders, gravel gardens and patio containers.
Best grown in full sun in well-drained soil, 'Cherry Lips' is drought tolerant once established and performs particularly well in a warm, sheltered position. Regular deadheading will encourage further flowers and help maintain a neat appearance throughout the season.
