Podophyllum versipelle 'Spotty Dotty'
Podophyllum versipelle 'Spotty Dotty' is a spectacular foliage perennial prized for its bold, umbrella-like leaves and dramatic colouring. In spring, the large, deeply lobed leaves emerge in bright chartreuse, heavily marked with rich chocolate-brown spotting, creating an exotic, almost tropical effect in shaded areas.
As the season progresses, the foliage matures to green with lighter mottling, while clusters of striking garnet-red flowers appear beneath the leaves in early summer, often in groups of five or more. Selected for its vigour, colouring, frost tolerance and spreading rhizomatous habit, this semi-evergreen perennial thrives in cool, moist, organic soils and is ideal for shady borders, woodland gardens or containers. Young growth should be protected from hard spring frosts.
