Rubus idaeus Twotimer® 'Sugana'
Rubus idaeus Twotimer® 'Sugana' is a productive raspberry offering large, bright red berries with a sweet, aromatic flavour and pleasantly balanced acidity. The conical fruits are firm yet juicy, making them excellent for fresh eating, freezing, jams and desserts.
With suitable pruning, established plants can produce two harvests each year. New canes crop from August to September, then fruit again in June and July the following year when retained through winter. Its vigorous, upright growth and few side shoots make it straightforward to train and manage.
Hardy and self-fertile, 'Sugana' is ideal for fruit gardens, allotments and large patio containers. Grow in sun or partial shade with fertile, moist but well-drained soil. Support the canes and water during dry spells. For two crops, shorten the fruited tips in February and remove those canes after their summer harvest.
