Rubus idaeus Primeberry® 'Grand Heritage'
Raspberry Primeberry® 'Grand Heritage' is a productive autumn-fruiting raspberry with very large, pointed red berries that deepen in colour as they ripen. The juicy fruits have a sweet, aromatic flavour balanced by a pleasant acidity, making them delicious eaten straight from the plant.
An improved form of 'Heritage', this primocane variety fruits on first-year canes, with harvests beginning in late July and continuing through September. Its robust, upright growth and lightly spined canes make it a practical choice for fruit gardens and allotments. The berries are excellent for freezing, jams and desserts.
Hardy and self-fertile, 'Grand Heritage' performs best in a sunny, sheltered position with fertile, moist but well-drained soil. Water during dry spells and provide support where needed. For a straightforward autumn crop, cut all canes down to ground level in February.
