Rhododendron dauricum 'April Snow'
Rhododendron dauricum 'April Snow' is a compact, early-flowering rhododendron that brings welcome brightness to the garden at the very start of spring. From late March into April, neat clusters of double white flowers appear, often delicately flushed with soft pink and lightly scented, standing out beautifully against the deep green foliage.
This semi-evergreen shrub forms a tidy, upright yet broad habit, making it ideal for borders, woodland gardens and sheltered positions. As the seasons change, its elliptic leaves take on attractive reddish-bronze tones in autumn, extending its interest beyond flowering. Best grown in moist but well-drained acidic soil, it thrives in sun or partial shade in a sheltered south- or west-facing position.
