Rhododendron dauricum 'April Snow'
Rhododendron dauricum 'April Snow' is a compact, early-flowering shrub producing neat clusters of double white flowers. Appearing from late March into April, the blooms may be delicately flushed with soft pink and have a light fragrance.
Deep green, elliptic foliage forms a tidy, upright yet broad plant, with the semi-evergreen leaves developing attractive reddish-bronze tones in autumn. Its manageable habit makes it ideal for borders, woodland gardens and sheltered planting schemes.
Plant in a sheltered position in sun or partial shade and acidic, humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil. A south- or west-facing position will provide protection while encouraging a plentiful early-spring flowering display.
