Rubus idaeus Primeberry® 'Autumn First®'
Raspberry Primeberry® 'Autumn First®' is an exceptionally early autumn-fruiting raspberry producing generous crops on the current season's growth. Its vigorous, upright canes are strong and stable, although they carry a covering of fine spines.
Large, bright red berries begin ripening in early August and continue through to the end of September. The finely structured, conical fruits have an aromatic, fruity flavour with a delicious balance of sweetness and fresh acidity, making them excellent for eating fresh or using in desserts, sauces and preserves.
Hardy, self-fertile and reliable, 'Autumn First®' performs best in a sunny, sheltered position with fertile, moisture-retentive but well-drained soil. As a primocane raspberry, it is easy to maintain by cutting all the old canes to ground level in February before the new season's growth begins.
