Prunus laurocerasus 'Novita'
Prunus laurocerasus 'Novita' is a vigorous evergreen Cherry Laurel with large, glossy green leaves and strong upright growth. Its dense foliage provides reliable year-round cover, making it an excellent choice for substantial hedging, screening and boundary planting.
In spring, upright clusters of small white flowers appear amongst the foliage, attracting bees and other pollinating insects. These may be followed by dark ornamental berries in autumn, providing an additional seasonal feature and a useful food source for garden birds.
Hardy, robust and more weather tolerant than many traditional laurels, 'Novita' performs well in a wide range of garden situations, including more exposed sites. It responds well to regular trimming and can be kept as a neat formal hedge or allowed to develop into a larger evergreen screen.
