Pieris japonica 'Red Mountain'
Pieris japonica 'Red Mountain' is a colourful evergreen shrub prized for its striking young foliage. Fresh growth emerges in deep red shades before gradually maturing to rich green, creating a vivid contrast and providing year-round structure in the garden.
In spring, clusters of small cream-coloured, bell-shaped flowers appear above the foliage, adding an elegant seasonal display. The combination of colourful new growth, spring flowers and evergreen leaves gives Red Mountain a long season of garden interest.
Ideal for acid borders, woodland-style planting and patio containers, Red Mountain grows best in partial shade or gentle sun in moist but well-drained acidic soil. Use ericaceous compost when growing in containers and position in a sheltered spot for the best foliage and flowering display.
