Pieris japonica 'Forest Flame' ℗
Pieris japonica 'Forest Flame' ℗ is a striking evergreen shrub that provides colour and structure throughout the year. Its brilliant red young leaves emerge in spring, gradually developing through shades of pink before maturing to glossy green.
During March and April, graceful clusters of lightly scented white, bell-shaped flowers appear above the colourful new foliage. The blooms resemble lily-of-the-valley and create an elegant contrast against the vivid spring growth.
Ideal for woodland gardens, shaded borders and patio containers, 'Forest Flame' thrives in cool, moist but well-drained acidic soil. This RHS Award of Garden Merit variety is a reliable choice for adding year-round interest to ericaceous planting schemes.
