Pieris japonica 'Flaming Silver'
Pieris japonica 'Flaming Silver' is a compact evergreen shrub with striking variegated foliage. Mature green leaves are edged in silver-white, providing bright year-round colour and structure in shaded borders and patio containers.
In early spring, brilliant red new growth creates a vivid contrast against the older variegated leaves. From March to April, graceful clusters of scented white, bell-shaped flowers appear, adding a delicate lily-of-the-valley fragrance.
This RHS Award of Garden Merit variety thrives in partial shade and cool, moist but well-drained acidic soil. It is ideal for woodland gardens, ericaceous borders and containers, combining beautifully with Rhododendrons, Azaleas and Camellias.
