Physocarpus opulifolius 'Lady in Red'®
Physocarpus opulifolius 'Lady in Red'® is a striking deciduous shrub grown for its rich reddish-purple foliage, which gradually deepens to darker purple tones as the season progresses. Its colourful leaves provide exceptional contrast and depth within borders, creating an eye-catching backdrop for flowering perennials and other shrubs.
During May and June, clusters of delicate white-pink flowers are produced along the stems, standing out beautifully against the dark foliage. The nectar-rich blooms attract bees and other pollinating insects, while ornamental red fruits develop later in the season and are enjoyed by garden birds.
