Persicaria amplexicaulis 'Fat Domino'
Persicaria amplexicaulis 'Fat Domino' is a vigorous herbaceous perennial producing bold spikes of deep red flowers above a dense mound of fresh green foliage. The substantial flower spikes create strong colour and vertical interest from summer through into autumn.
Its long flowering season makes 'Fat Domino' particularly valuable in mixed borders, prairie-style planting and naturalistic schemes. The nectar-rich flowers are attractive to bees and other pollinating insects, while the distinctive flower spikes also add texture and colour to cut flower arrangements.
Hardy, reliable and easy to grow, 'Fat Domino' performs well in full sun or partial shade in moist but well-drained soil. Its generous clumping habit works particularly well alongside ornamental grasses and other late-flowering perennials.
