Persicaria affinis 'Darjeeling Red'
Persicaria affinis 'Darjeeling Red' is a mat-forming, semi-evergreen perennial producing dense spikes of pale pink flowers that gradually deepen to rich red as they age, creating an attractive two-tone effect through the flowering season.
Blooming from midsummer into autumn, it forms a colourful carpet that is ideal for ground cover, edging paths and filling gaps at the front of borders. Its spreading habit also helps suppress weeds while providing useful cover across bare soil.
The foliage develops attractive bronze tones in autumn, extending its seasonal interest beyond the main flowering period. Easy to grow and valuable to pollinators, 'Darjeeling Red' is a reliable choice for sunny or lightly shaded borders with moist but well-drained soil.
