Molinia caerulea subsp. caerulea 'Heidebraut' is a graceful deciduous ornamental grass forming a neat clump of fresh green foliage topped by tall, airy flower stems. Its elegant upright habit adds height and movement without appearing heavy in the border.
During summer, slender stems carry delicate purple flower panicles that rise well above the foliage and sway gently in the breeze. As autumn approaches, the leaves develop warm golden-orange and yellow tones, extending its seasonal interest.
Ideal for naturalistic planting, prairie-style borders and mixed perennial schemes, 'Heidebraut' combines beautifully with late-flowering perennials and other ornamental grasses. It performs best in sun or partial shade in moist but well-drained soil.
