Miscanthus sinensis 'Ferner Osten'
Miscanthus sinensis 'Ferner Osten' is a striking ornamental grass forming graceful clumps of arching green foliage. Its elegant shape brings movement, texture and valuable height to mixed borders and contemporary planting schemes.
From late summer into autumn, vibrant red-pink flower plumes rise above the foliage before gradually fading through softer pink shades to silvery-white. The leaves also develop warm copper tones in autumn, extending the seasonal display.
Ideal for prairie-style planting, mixed borders and large patio containers, 'Ferner Osten' is hardy, reliable and easy to grow. The dried stems and feathery flowerheads can be left standing through winter to provide structure and interest.
