Lobelia cardinalis 'Queen Victoria'
Lobelia 'Queen Victoria' is a dramatic, award-winning perennial renowned for its brilliant scarlet-red flower spikes and rich purple-red foliage. From mid-summer into autumn, upright stems carry vivid blooms that create a striking contrast against the dark leaves, bringing bold colour and architectural interest to the garden.
This moisture-loving variety is particularly effective in mixed borders, waterside planting schemes and wildlife gardens, where its vibrant flowers attract bees, butterflies and other pollinating insects. The strong stems also make excellent cut flowers, adding colour and height to floral arrangements.
Thriving in fertile, moisture-retentive soil, 'Queen Victoria' performs best in full sun or partial shade and combines beautifully with ornamental grasses and late-flowering perennials.
