Leucothoe walteri 'Zeblid' (Scarletta)
Leucothoe walteri 'Zeblid' (Scarletta) is a compact evergreen shrub prized for its glossy, leathery foliage and dramatic seasonal colour changes. New growth emerges in rich bronze-red shades during spring before maturing to deep green through summer.
As temperatures cool, the foliage develops intense scarlet, burgundy and deep red tones, creating a spectacular autumn and winter display. Clusters of small, white, urn-shaped flowers appear amongst the foliage in spring, adding a delicate contrast.
Easy to grow and naturally bushy, 'Zeblid' is ideal for shaded borders, woodland-style gardens and patio containers. It performs best in moist but well-drained, acidic soil in partial shade and provides reliable year-round colour and structure.
