Ilex × meserveae 'Blue Prince'
Ilex × meserveae 'Blue Prince' is a handsome evergreen male holly with glossy, deep blue-green foliage and a dense, upright habit. Its rich colouring and strong structure provide valuable year-round interest in borders, hedges and formal planting schemes.
As a male variety, 'Blue Prince' does not produce berries but is an excellent pollinator for compatible female hollies such as 'Blue Princess'. Its naturally dense growth makes it particularly useful for hedging, screening and structural planting.
Hardy, adaptable and easy to grow, 'Blue Prince' performs well in full sun or partial shade and in most well-drained soils. It responds well to clipping and can be maintained as a neat hedge or grown as a specimen shrub.
