Hosta 'Powder Blue'
Hosta 'Powder Blue' is an impressive, clump-forming perennial grown for its large, heart-shaped blue-green leaves. The heavily textured and corrugated foliage has a distinctive powdery finish, bringing bold colour and structure to shaded planting schemes.
During summer, tall stems rise above the substantial mound of foliage carrying elegant lavender flowers. The thick leaves provide good resistance to slug damage, while the flowers add extra height and gentle seasonal colour.
Best grown in partial or full shade in moist but well-drained soil, 'Powder Blue' is ideal for woodland gardens, large shaded borders and planting beneath trees and shrubs. Its generous size and architectural foliage make it particularly effective as a specimen plant.
