Fraser Fir (Abies fraseri)
Narrow, fragrant and bushy
Fraser Fir is an excellent Christmas tree for smaller spaces thanks to its naturally slimmer, conical shape. Its dense branches are covered with soft green needles with a silvery underside, creating a full and attractive tree that is easy to decorate.
One of its standout features is its wonderful balsam fragrance, which helps fill the room with a traditional Christmas scent throughout the festive season. Fraser Fir also offers excellent needle retention, making it a practical choice for keeping your home looking tidy over Christmas.
More About Fraser Fir
Fraser Fir originates from the Appalachian Mountains of the south-eastern United States, where it naturally thrives in cool, mountainous conditions. Specialist growers have spent years perfecting its cultivation to produce the dense growth, attractive shape and strong branches that make it such a popular Christmas tree.
It is particularly popular as a Christmas tree in North America and has frequently been selected as the official White House Christmas tree.
Although Fraser Fir has the characteristic balsam fragrance, it should not be confused with the closely related Balsam Fir. Fraser Fir generally offers better needle retention, which makes it particularly well suited to use as a cut Christmas tree.

Keep your fresh cut Christmas tree looking its best with these five simple care tips.
-
Keep it cool until you're ready
Until you're ready to decorate, keep your tree outside in a cool, sheltered spot, with its base standing in a bucket of water.
-
Give it a gentle shake
Before bringing your tree indoors, give it a gentle shake outside to remove loose needles.
-
Give the trunk a fresh cut
Saw about 2.5cm from the base of the trunk, then put the cut end straight into water. Ask our team to trim the trunk before you take your tree home.
-
Keep the water topped up
Use a tree stand with a water reservoir. Check it daily and keep the cut end of the trunk covered with water.
-
Choose a spot away from heat
Keep your tree away from radiators, fires and other direct heat sources to help it stay fresh for longer.
