Nordmann Fir originates from the Caucasus Mountains, between Turkey and Georgia. Seed sourced from Ambrolauri in Georgia is especially valued because the trees tend to begin their spring growth later and grow more slowly, helping produce a denser branch structure that is ideal for Christmas trees.
Later spring growth also makes the trees less vulnerable to frost damage, helping maintain healthy, attractive foliage. With careful pruning and the right growing conditions, Nordmann Fir develops the full, balanced shape that has made it such a popular Christmas tree.

Keep it cool until you're ready
Until you're ready to decorate, keep your tree outside in a cool, sheltered spot, with its base standing in a bucket of water.

Give it a gentle shake
Before bringing your tree indoors, give it a gentle shake outside to remove loose needles.

Give the trunk a fresh cut
Saw about 2.5cm from the base of the trunk, then put the cut end straight into water. Ask our team to trim the trunk before you take your tree home.

Keep the water topped up
Use a tree stand with a water reservoir. Check it daily and keep the cut end of the trunk covered with water.

Choose a spot away from heat
Keep your tree away from radiators, fires and other direct heat sources to help it stay fresh for longer.
