Erica × darleyensis 'Eva Gold'
Erica × darleyensis 'Eva Gold' is a neat, compact winter-flowering heather and one of the easiest varieties to grow. A hybrid of Erica carnea and Erica erigena, this group is known for its toughness, adaptability and reliability in almost any soil. The golden summer foliage deepens to rich gold and orange shades in winter, adding warm colour when the garden is quiet.
From late winter into early spring, the plant is covered in masses of bright magenta flowers that attract early pollinators. Its dense, spreading habit makes it an excellent groundcover choice, ideal for suppressing weeds and providing evergreen structure. Light pruning after flowering helps maintain a bushy, compact shape.
