Erica carnea f. alba 'Whitehall'
Erica carnea f. alba 'Whitehall' is a compact evergreen winter heath producing clear white, urn-shaped flowers from January to March. Contrasting brown anthers add delicate detail to the blooms, while its fine, bright green needle-like foliage provides fresh colour throughout the year.
Upright stems form a neat, low mound, making 'Whitehall' particularly effective in patio pots and mixed winter containers. It also suits border edges, rockeries and planting in groups, where its white flowers brighten seasonal displays. The blooms provide a useful nectar source for bees during the colder months.
Hardy and low maintenance, 'Whitehall' prefers full sun or light partial shade in moist but well-drained soil. It grows well in acidic or neutral conditions and tolerates mildly alkaline soil. Lightly trim after flowering to remove faded blooms and maintain its compact shape, avoiding cuts into old wood.
