Erica carnea 'Diana Young'
Erica carnea 'Diana Young' is a compact evergreen winter heather with fine, dark green needle-like foliage. From February to April, almost white buds open into delicate pink-purple flowers, creating an attractive contrast and bringing welcome colour to the garden through late winter and spring.
Its bushy, spreading habit makes it ideal for rockeries, banks, border edges and groundcover planting. It also works beautifully in seasonal containers alongside spring bulbs and contrasting evergreen plants. The flowers attract bees, while its dense foliage provides useful texture and greenery throughout the year.
Hardy and easy to maintain, 'Diana Young' performs best in full sun with moist but well-drained, acidic or neutral soil. Water regularly while establishing, particularly when growing in containers. A light trim after flowering helps maintain its compact shape, making it a dependable choice for smaller gardens and colourful spring displays.
