Light: Requires bright light with several hours of direct sun daily
Water: Keep compost consistently moist using rainwater or distilled water only. Never allow to dry out
Soil/Nutrition: Use nutrient-poor, free-draining carnivorous plant compost such as sphagnum moss. Do not use regular compost or fertiliser
Humidity: Prefers moderate to high humidity but adapts to indoor conditions
Pruning and propagation: Remove flower stems to conserve energy. Will naturally die back in winter dormancy and regrow in spring

Watering
Rainwater is the most natural thing the Dionaea can get, but not essential. Tap water can also be fine. Make sure the plant doesn’t dry out. Keeping a dish filled with water under the plant is the easiest way to do this.
Location
Place in a bright position. Direct sunlight is great for this plant.
The Dionaea can be placed either indoors or outdoors. The plant can withstand mild winters with frosts of no more than 5°C.
Fertilizer
Do not fertilize the Dionaea.
