Monstera deliciosa
Monstera deliciosa, the classic Swiss Cheese Plant, is loved for its large, glossy, heart-shaped leaves that develop striking natural splits and holes (fenestrations) as they mature. Its bold, tropical appearance and vigorous growth make it one of the most iconic and rewarding indoor plants to grow.
Thriving in bright, indirect light and moderate to high humidity, it’s perfect for living rooms, offices, and conservatories where its impressive foliage can take centre stage. Large leaves mean this is an excellent air-purifying plant, helping to create a fresher indoor environment.
- Other names: Swiss Cheese Plant, Split Leaf Philodendron, Monstera pertusum
- Useful to know: Can cause irritation if ingested, use care around pets and children
- Feature: Great air purifying plant
- Eventual height: Can grow up to 500cm
- Origins: Southern Mexico and Panama
