Cryptomeria 'Compressa' is a charming dwarf evergreen conifer forming a naturally dense, globe-shaped mound of soft light green foliage. The recurved leaf tips create a distinctive textured appearance, while colder weather brings attractive bronze tones for additional seasonal interest.
This variety develops a neat, compact habit that makes it particularly well suited to smaller gardens, rockeries, alpine planting and containers. Its rounded form provides reliable year-round structure and works especially well in planting schemes where space is limited.
Slow growing, hardy and low maintenance, this conifer performs best in sun or partial shade in moist but well-drained soil. With annual growth of around 4-8cm, it retains its tidy shape for many years with very little pruning required.
