Bletilla striata
Bletilla striata is a beautiful hardy terrestrial orchid forming neat clumps of lance-shaped green foliage, topped with elegant stems of fragrant pink flowers in spring and early summer. Its graceful blooms bring an exotic touch to borders, woodland gardens and containers.
Easy to grow in fertile, moisture-retentive but well-drained soil, this compact perennial performs best in sun or partial shade. An excellent choice for smaller gardens, it returns reliably each year and has been recognised with the prestigious RHS Award of Garden Merit.
