Amelanchier canadensis 'Rainbow Pillar' is a narrow, upright shrub or small tree prized for its elegant shape and exceptional multi-season interest. Ideal for smaller gardens and tighter spaces, its columnar habit makes it perfect for borders, woodland planting schemes or urban settings where width is limited but vertical impact is desired.
Bronze-tinged young leaves emerge in spring before maturing to fresh green in summer. In March and April, clusters of delicate, star-shaped white flowers appear before the foliage fully unfurls, creating a light, airy display that attracts bees and other pollinators. By early summer, purplish-black berries develop, which are edible and excellent for jams - or can be left for birds such as blackbirds and thrushes. Autumn brings a spectacular show of fiery red, orange and yellow foliage.
