Amelanchier lamarckii is a superb multi-season shrub or small tree offering year-round interest with elegant spring blossom, edible berries and spectacular autumn colour. In early spring, star-shaped white flowers, often flushed pink in bud, cover the bare branches before the foliage fully emerges, creating a stunning display.

Bronze-tinted young leaves mature to fresh green through summer before turning brilliant shades of orange, scarlet and fiery red in autumn. Small purple-black berries follow the flowers in early summer and are loved by birds, while also being edible for people, making this an excellent choice for wildlife-friendly gardens.

With its graceful, upright habit and outstanding seasonal appeal, Amelanchier lamarckii is perfect as a specimen tree, for mixed borders or smaller gardens. It thrives in full sun or partial shade in most well-drained soils and is easy to grow and maintain.
