Amelanchier laevis 'R J Hilton'
Amelanchier 'R J Hilton' is an elegant, compact tree renowned for its outstanding spring blossom and superb autumn colour. In early spring, it produces masses of delicate, star-shaped white flowers that appear before the leaves and attract pollinators. These are followed by small, edible summer berries that ripen to deep purple-black and are ideal for fresh eating or making jams and preserves.
The foliage emerges bronze in spring before maturing to soft green through summer and then turning brilliant shades of red and orange in autumn. With its neat habit and manageable size, ‘R J Hilton’ is perfect for smaller gardens, courtyards, and mixed borders where year-round colour and structure are desired.
