Alchemilla mollis
Alchemilla mollis is a classic cottage garden perennial valued for its soft, scalloped light green foliage and clouds of delicate lime-green flowers. The velvety leaves are particularly attractive after rain, holding droplets of water that shimmer like beads of silver across the surface.
From early to mid-summer, airy sprays of tiny yellow-green flowers rise above the foliage, creating a frothy effect that softens the edges of borders and blends beautifully with roses, herbaceous perennials and naturalistic planting schemes. Its spreading habit also makes it an excellent ground cover plant for sunny or partially shaded areas.
Easy to grow and highly adaptable, Alchemilla mollis thrives in most garden soils and requires very little maintenance. It is also valued by pollinators and makes an excellent addition to cut flower arrangements.
