Acer palmatum 'Sango-kaku'
Acer palmatum 'Sango-kaku' is a striking Japanese maple best known for its glowing coral-pink stems, which provide outstanding winter interest when the garden is at its quietest. In spring, the foliage opens in soft pink and yellow tones before maturing to fresh, vibrant green through summer.
As autumn arrives, the leaves turn gentle shades of yellow, creating a warm, elegant display that complements the colourful bark. With its upright, spreading habit, this award-winning maple makes a superb specimen tree for borders, lawns and larger gardens, where its year-round features can be fully appreciated. Best grown in a sheltered position with moist, well-drained soil and light shade.
